1/4 cup onion powder
2 tbsp. pure maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 tbsp. salt (or salt to taste)

  1. Place 4 cups of water in a large pan; bring to a boil.
  2. Add 3 cups of water to blender, together with the cashews and sunflower seeds. Blend until very smooth.
  3. Add remaining water and rest of ingredients. Blend again until smooth and consistent color.
  4. Add cheeze mixture from blender to boiling water. Place heat on medium high. Stir constantly until thickened.

This recipe makes about 10 cups of cheeze sauce. It keeps well in the refrigerator for about a week. To for later use, mix water and blended cheeze sauce together; place into plastic freezer bags and freeze. To use, thaw and heat until thickened. This sauce is great over veggies, casseroles and pasta.
